The Kia Carens is a type of car called a compact MPV. This means it's a smaller minivan that can carry many people or lots of cargo. Kia Motors, a company from Korea, first launched the Carens in 1999. It's now in its third main version. This car is sold all over the world, sometimes under different names, like the Kia Rondo.
The Second Generation Carens
Kia introduced the second version of the Carens in 2006. This new model was for the 2007 car year. Before this, Kia showed a special idea car called the Multi-S at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Multi-S was like an early look at what the Carens/Rondo could be. The "S" in Multi-S stood for Sporty, Spacious, and Smart. The final car looked quite different from the Multi-S. One cool feature of the Multi-S was its sunroof, which had two panels and went along the whole roof.
The name Rondo comes from a musical term. A Rondo in music is a piece where a main part keeps coming back.
First Generation Carens
Kia launched the very first Carens model, known as the RS series, in May 1999. A few years later, in 2002, the car got an update to its look.
The Carens was stopped being sold in Australia in 2001. However, it kept being made and sold in other parts of the world, especially the updated model that came out in 2002.
