Kiley Reid (born in 1987) is an American writer who creates novels. Her first novel, Such a Fun Age, came out in December 2019. It was considered for the famous Booker Prize in 2020.

Early Life and Education
Kiley Reid was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1987. She grew up in Tucson, Arizona, from age seven to 20. She went to Salpointe Catholic High School.
After high school, she studied theater at the University of Arizona. Later, she moved to Marymount Manhattan College. Kiley Reid also attended the Iowa Writers' Workshop, a well-known program for writers.
Her Writing Career
Before writing novels, Kiley Reid wrote short stories. These stories appeared in different magazines. Some of these magazines include Ploughshares, December, New South, and Lumina.
About Such a Fun Age
Kiley Reid's first novel, Such a Fun Age, was released on December 31, 2019, in the U.S. It came out in the United Kingdom a week later. This book was a big success.
It was longlisted for the Booker Prize in July 2020. It also won the International Book of the Year award in Australia in 2021. The novel quickly became very popular. It reached No. 3 on The New York Times hardcover fiction list.
The story is about a young Black babysitter and her white boss. It explores their relationship and talks about race, class, and identity. Many news outlets gave the book good reviews. These included The Washington Post, Entertainment Weekly, and NPR.

Kiley Reid got the idea for the novel from her own life. She spent six years taking care of children for wealthy families in New York City. Kiley Reid's second novel is called Come and Get It. It was published on January 30, 2024. This book tells the story of a student helper in a dorm. She gets involved with a professor and three students.

As of 2019, Kiley Reid lived in Philadelphia with her husband. By 2024, they moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan. She now teaches at the University of Michigan.
