About Killarney Springs

What Was There to Do?

Killarney Springs first opened its doors in 1991. It quickly became a favorite spot for families. The park had many exciting things to do. You could explore an indoor adventure play centre. There was also a calm boating lake.

For those who loved speed, there was a fun tobogganing slope. You could also race around on go karts. Bumper boats offered a splashy good time. An assault course challenged visitors to climb and crawl.

In 2005, Killarney Springs added new attractions. These were part of the 'Family Fun Fair'. New rides included a thrilling log flume. There was also a rollercoaster for bigger thrills. And, of course, classic bumper cars were added for everyone to enjoy.

Why Did Killarney Springs Close?

Sadly, Killarney Springs closed its gates forever after the 2006 season. The main reason for its closure was a problem with its building permits. The park had added the new rollercoaster and log flume rides. However, these new attractions did not get approval from the local council. The council is a group that makes rules for building.

Because the park did not follow these rules, it had to close. Since then, the park has been empty and unused. Some parts of the site have even been taken down. The land where the park once stood will now be used for new homes.
