Kilwinning, Missouri facts for kids
Kilwinning is a small place in Scotland County, Missouri, in the United States. It's called an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and buildings that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government.
History
Kilwinning has an interesting past. It was first known by a different name: Uniontown. This name was given when the area was first planned out on a map in 1857.
Later, in 1880, a post office opened there, and it was named Kilwinning. This post office helped people send and receive letters and packages. It stayed open for many years, finally closing in 1907. The name "Kilwinning" actually comes from a town called Kilwinning in Scotland.
