Kim English (born September 6, 1970 – died April 2, 2019) was an American singer. She was known for her electronic, soul, gospel, and house music.

Early Life of Kim English
Kim English was born on September 6, 1970, in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. Her parents were Ronald and Annie Joyce English. She had three brothers: Eric, Richard, and Ronald Carl.
Kim English's Music Career
Kim English became very successful on the US dance music charts. She also had hits on the UK Singles Chart. Her music career started in the mid-1990s and continued into the 2000s.
Her first song to appear on the dance charts was "I Know a Place" in 1995. It was a moderate hit, reaching number 32. However, her very first song was "Nitelife" in 1994. This song was created by Ten City.
Between 1999 and 2002, Kim English had an amazing run of six songs that reached the top two spots on the charts. Five of these songs even reached number one! These chart-topping hits included "Unspeakable Joy", "Missing You", "Bumpin' and Jumpin'", "Everyday", and "Treat Me Right".
All of these popular songs, except "I Know a Place", were part of her first album. This album was called Higher Things. It was released in late 1998 by Nervous Records NYC. "Unspeakable Joy" and "Everyday" became her most popular songs played on the radio. The album also featured her version of Anita Baker's song "Been So Long".
Kim English started her singing career as a gospel singer. Many of her most famous songs talk about God, faith, and believing in yourself.
By 2007, she had earned even more number-one dance hits in the US. These included "It Makes a Difference", "C'est La Vie", and "My Destiny". All three of these songs came from her second album, My Destiny. This album was released in September 2006. All of her hit songs were released through Nervous Records. In September 2009, she released another song called "Nothing's Impossible".
Personal Life and Passing
Kim English had one son named Christopher. For the last five years of her life, she was undergoing dialysis. This is a medical treatment that helps clean the blood when kidneys don't work well. She was waiting for a kidney transplant.
Sadly, Kim English passed away on April 2, 2019, in Chicago, Illinois. She was 48 years old. Her death was caused by kidney failure.
