Kim Fajardo's Volleyball Journey
Kim Fajardo started playing volleyball when she was very young, in Grade 2. When she was in high school, she played for the UST Junior Golden Tigresses. At first, she was a utility spiker, but then she became a setter. She even played alongside Alyssa Valdez for the Philippine girls' volleyball team in 2008.
College Volleyball Success
In 2010, Kim went to De La Salle University. Because she transferred from another school in the UAAP league, she had to wait one year before she could play. This is a rule for players who switch schools.
Once she started playing for the DLSU Lady Spikers, Kim became a huge star. She helped her team win three championships in indoor volleyball: in 2013, 2016, and 2017. She also won a championship in beach volleyball in 2016.
Kim was recognized as the "Best Setter" three times during her college career. This is a big achievement! She was also named the "Most Valuable Player" for beach volleyball in 2016. Even after she graduated from college in 2015, she decided to play one more year for her team as captain. She led them to another championship and was named "Best Setter" and "Best Server" that season.
Professional Career Highlights
Kim Fajardo continued her success in professional volleyball. She won "Best Server" at the 2014 Philippine National Games and was the "Most Valuable Player" in the 2015 games. She also won "Best Setter" twice in the PVF Intercollegiate Volleyball Championship.
In 2016, Kim was chosen to be part of the Philippine Super Liga All-Stars. This team represented the Philippines in a big international competition called the 2016 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship.
With her club team, F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, Kim won championships in 2016 and 2017. She was also awarded "Best Setter" in both of those winning seasons. Since 2024, she has been playing for the PLDT High Speed Hitters.
