Kim Matula (born August 23, 1988) is an American actress. She is best known for playing Hope Logan in the popular daytime TV show The Bold and the Beautiful. Her performance in the show earned her a nomination for a Daytime Emmy Award.

Matula has also appeared in many other TV shows and movies. She starred in the comedy series LA to Vegas and had a key role in the second season of the drama series Unreal. In 2024, she played comedian Jane Curtin in the movie Saturday Night, which tells the story of the first-ever Saturday Night Live episode.

Early Life and Acting Start

Kim Matula grew up with a passion for acting. She attended the University of Texas at Arlington to study film. However, her acting career began to grow quickly, so she decided to leave college to focus on her roles.

Her first movie was a horror film called Savage Spirit in 2006. In 2008, she starred in the TV movie Queen Sized with Nikki Blonsky. The next year, she made a guest appearance on the hit comedy show How I Met Your Mother. These early roles helped her gain experience in Hollywood.

Breakthrough on Television

The Bold and the Beautiful

In 2010, Matula landed her most famous role as Hope Logan on the CBS TV show The Bold and the Beautiful. This type of show, called a soap opera, airs every weekday and has ongoing stories. As Hope, Matula was part of major storylines that made her a fan favorite.

Her work on the show was highly praised. In 2014, she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series. After playing Hope for nearly five years, Matula decided to leave the show in 2014 to explore new opportunities in movies and primetime television. She returned for a few guest appearances in 2015 and 2016.

After leaving her famous soap opera role, Matula continued to act in a variety of projects. In 2014, she starred in the thriller movie Dawn Patrol with Scott Eastwood. In 2016, she joined the cast of the popular TV series Unreal for its second season.

In 2018, she played a main character, a flight attendant named Ronnie, in the Fox comedy show LA to Vegas. A year later, she appeared in the movie Fighting with My Family, which was shown at the famous Sundance Film Festival.

Matula has also taken on roles where she plays real people. In 2021, she appeared as news anchor Laura Ingraham in Impeachment: American Crime Story. In 2024, she portrayed original Saturday Night Live cast member Jane Curtin in the movie Saturday Night.
