Nicole Blonsky (born November 9, 1988) is an American actress, singer, and dancer. She is famous for playing Tracy Turnblad in the movie Hairspray (2007). For this role, she won two Critics' Choice Awards. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Blonsky also starred as Willamena Rader in the ABC Family TV show Huge (2010). She was nominated for a Teen Choice Award for this role. She also appeared as Margot on the show Smash (2013). Her movie roles include Therese in Geography Club (2013) and Faith in The Last Movie Star (2017). Nikki is also a licensed cosmetologist, which means she can do hair and makeup.

Early Life and Education
Nikki Blonsky was born and grew up in Great Neck, New York. Her parents are Karen, who works at a school, and Carl Blonsky, who works for the village's water system.
Nikki went to Great Neck North Middle School. She then attended John L. Miller Great Neck North High School. After a year, she moved to Village School. She also spent time daily at the after-school theater program at William A. Shine Great Neck South High School. There, she performed in many plays. Some of these included Les Misérables, Sweeney Todd, Kiss Me, Kate, and the main role in the opera Carmen.
Acting Career Highlights
Nikki Blonsky first appeared on screen as Tracy Turnblad in the movie Hairspray. This film was based on the popular musical. Nikki was a high school student when she auditioned. She had no professional acting or singing experience at the time. She was chosen for the role over 1,100 other people!
The movie was very successful and was loved by critics. It was Nikki's first big role. People praised her performance. Roger Ebert from the Chicago Sun-Times wrote that Nikki's acting made the movie special. She won several awards and nominations. She won two Critic's Choice Awards for Best Actress and Best Acting Ensemble. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. She also received a nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
On June 22, 2008, Nikki sang the The Star-Spangled Banner at a car race event. This was at the 2008 Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway. Nikki also starred in the MTV mystery series Valemont in 2009.
In 2010, Blonsky starred with Raven Goodwin in the ABC Family series Huge. The show started in June 2010 and ran for one season. Entertainment Weekly magazine called her a "great asset" to the show. They praised her for making her character's anger seem both real and funny. For her work in Huge, she was nominated for a Teen Choice Award.
In 2011, Nikki got her cosmetology license. She started working part-time as a hairstylist and makeup artist in her hometown of Great Neck, New York. She did this while still going to acting auditions. In 2013, Blonsky appeared in two episodes of the NBC show Smash. This show was about Broadway. Later that year, she was in the movie Geography Club. The movie got mixed reviews, but Nikki and the cast were nominated for an award in 2014.
In 2017, Blonsky performed in an Off-Broadway play called Stuffed. In 2020, Nikki started a video series on her Instagram account. In these videos, she chats with other famous people.
Personal Life and Interests
In July 2008, Nikki Blonsky and her parents were involved in an incident at the Providenciales International Airport in Turks and Caicos. Charges were later dropped against Nikki.
Nikki Blonsky announced her engagement to Hailey Jo Jenson in 2022. They were married on October 21, 2023.
