Nicole Blonsky (born November 9, 1988) is an American actress and singer. She is best known for her role as Tracy Turnblad in the 2007 movie Hairspray. This film was a musical about a teenager who loves to dance. For her role, Nikki won two Critics' Choice Awards. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Nikki Blonsky also starred in the TV series Huge (2010) as Willamena Rader. She had a recurring role in the series Smash (2013). She also appeared in movies like Geography Club (2013) and The Last Movie Star (2017).

Early Life and School
Nikki Blonsky was born and grew up in Great Neck, New York. Her parents are Karen, who worked at a school, and Carl Blonsky, who worked for the local water department.
Nikki went to Great Neck North Middle School. She also attended John L. Miller Great Neck North High School for a year. Later, she switched to Village School. Nikki loved theater and attended an after-school program every day. There, she performed in many plays and musicals. These included Les Misérables and Sweeney Todd. She also played the main role in the opera Carmen.
Acting Career
Nikki Blonsky made her first movie appearance in Hairspray in 2007. This movie was based on a popular musical. At the time, Nikki was a high school student. She had no professional acting or singing experience. She auditioned for the role of Tracy Turnblad and was chosen from 1100 other people.
The movie Hairspray was very successful. Critics praised Nikki's performance. Roger Ebert, a famous movie critic, said that Nikki's happiness made the movie special. She won several awards for her role. These included two Critics' Choice Awards for Best Young Actress and Best Acting Ensemble. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress.
In 2008, Nikki sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" at a car race event. In 2009, she appeared in the MTV series Valemont. In 2010, she starred with Raven Goodwin in the ABC Family series Huge. Personal Life
In June 2020, Nikki Blonsky shared on TikTok that she is a lesbian. She announced her engagement to Hailey Jo Jenson in 2022. They were married on October 21, 2023. As of 2025, Nikki confirmed that she and her wife had separated.
