Early Olympic Experience
Kim Mi-rae first competed in the Olympics at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. She teamed up with another diver, Kim Kuk-hyang. Together, they competed in the women's synchronized 10-meter platform event. They finished in 4th place, which was a great achievement.
Success at Paris 2024 Olympics
At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Kim Mi-rae achieved even greater success. She won a silver medal in the women's synchronized 10-meter platform event. Her partner for this event was Jo Jin-mi. This was a very special moment because it was North Korea's first-ever Olympic medal in diving!
Kim Mi-rae also won a bronze medal in the individual women's 10-meter platform event. She scored 372.10 points in this competition. These medals show her hard work and skill in the sport of diving.
Other Major Competitions
World Championships Medals
Kim Mi-rae has also performed well at the World Aquatics Championships. In 2017, she won a silver medal in the 10-meter synchronized platform event. She also earned a bronze medal in the mixed synchronized 10-meter platform event that same year.
More recently, at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships in Doha, she won another silver medal. This was again in the 10-meter synchronized platform event.

Kim Mi-rae has also competed in the Asian Games. At the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, she won two medals. She took home a silver medal in the 10-meter synchronized platform event. She also earned a bronze medal in the individual 10-meter platform event.
