Kimbrell (sometimes spelled Kimbrel) is a small place in the United States that doesn't have its own local government. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's not officially a city or town with a mayor and city council.
Kimbrell is located in the state of Alabama. It actually stretches across two different counties: Jefferson County and Tuscaloosa County.
How Kimbrell Got Its Name
Kimbrell was named after a person called Miles Kimbrell. He was an important person in the community. Miles Kimbrell worked as a storekeeper. He also sold sewing machines to people in the area.
For a short time, Kimbrell even had its own post office. This post office was open from 1895 to 1905. It helped people send and receive mail.
