Kina Malpartida Dyson (born March 25, 1980) is a famous Peruvian professional boxer and a champion surfer. She was the World Boxing Association (WBA) World Champion in the Super Featherweight division. She held this important title from February 21, 2009, until October 30, 2013.

Kina's Early Life and Surfing Success
Kina Malpartida was born in Lima, Peru in 1980. Her mother, Susy Dyson, was a model, and her father, Oscar Malpartida, was a Peruvian National Surfing Champion.
Kina loved sports from a very young age. She started learning Karate Do when she was six. She also played soccer, basketball, tennis, and ran track. Kina began surfing when she was 10 years old.
Becoming a Surfing Champion
In 1996, Kina became the Peruvian Surfing Champion in the Women's Open World Surfing Championship. She even beat Sofia Mulanovich, who later became a world champion surfer.
A year before, in 1995, Kina won first place in two surf tournaments in the Men's Junior category. This showed how talented she was!
Kina also competed in two World Tournaments organized by the International Surfing Association (ISA). These were held in Huntington Beach, California, in 1996 and 2007. She finished in the top ten in both competitions.
In 1999, Kina moved to Australia. There, she earned a degree in Restaurant and Catering Management from Griffith University. She also studied Commercial Cookery at the TAFE Institute in New South Wales, Australia.
Kina's Boxing Journey
In May 2003, Kina started training as a boxer in Australia. Her goal was to become a professional World Champion boxer.
Starting Her Boxing Career
Kina had her first professional boxing match in August 2003 in Australia. She fought against Katrina Harding and won by a unanimous decision, meaning all the judges agreed she won.
In November 2003, Kina had her second professional fight. She won this one by a knockout (K.O.) in the second round against Sharon Bishoff. Kina continued to fight and win three more professional matches in Australia.
By November 2006, it became hard to find new opponents for Kina in Australia. So, she moved to Los Angeles, California, to continue her boxing career in the USA.
Winning a World Title
On February 21, 2009, Kina had her 12th professional fight. This big match took place at Madison Square Garden in New York. She fought against Maureen Shea, who had never lost a fight before. Kina won the World Boxing Association (WBA) World Championship Title in the Super Featherweight class!
After winning the title, Kina successfully defended it. In June 2009, she defended her title in Lima, Peru, against Halana Dos Santos from Brazil. Kina won with a TKO (Technical Knockout) in the seventh round.
On December 5, 2009, she defended her title again. This time, she fought against British boxer Lindsey Scragg in Los Angeles. Kina won by unanimous decision, keeping her championship belt.

Kina's Impact and Community Role
Kina's younger brother, Alvaro Malpartida, is also a talented surfer. He has been the Peruvian National Surfing Champion four times! He is now starting to compete in international surfing events.
Kina has many fans around the world. On Facebook alone, she has over 170,000 fans in South America, and that number keeps growing! Her first defense of the WBA World Champion title was a sold-out event, showing how popular she is.
Kina's success as a world champion boxer has made her a great role model. She inspires many women and children, especially in South America.
In July 2009, the Latin Business Association (LBA) gave Kina a special award. It was called the Chairman's Global Leadership Award. They honored her for being an outstanding leader and a role model for women and children around the world.
