Kindernet was a special television channel from the Netherlands. It was known for showing many different children's television series. These shows included both old favorites and newer ones from the 1980s and beyond.
This channel actually existed in two different time periods. First, there was the original Kindernet, which aired for many years. Later, it came back for a short time as a new version.
The Original Kindernet Channel
The first version of Kindernet started broadcasting on March 1, 1988. It quickly became a popular channel for kids in the Netherlands. It was a place where children could watch their favorite cartoons and shows.
This original channel continued to entertain young viewers for over a decade. However, it eventually stopped airing on September 1, 2003. Many kids who grew up in the 80s and 90s remember this channel well.
Kindernet's Return with Nickelodeon
Years later, Kindernet made a comeback! On April 4, 2011, a new version of the channel was launched. This time, it was connected to Nickelodeon.
This meant that the channel was part of a bigger network. It continued to show children's programs, keeping the spirit of Kindernet alive. However, this revival was shorter than the original. The second Kindernet channel stopped broadcasting on November 1, 2013.
Kindernet remains a memorable part of Dutch television history for many children. It brought joy and entertainment to young audiences for many years.
