Kindia is an important region located in the western part of Guinea. It shares its borders with the country of Sierra Leone. Kindia also borders other regions within Guinea, including Conakry, Labé, Mamou, and Boké. The main city and capital of this region is also called Kindia.

In 2014, a count of the people (called a census) showed that about 1,561,374 people lived in the Kindia Region. The total size of the region is about 28,873 square kilometers (11,148 square miles).
