Waverly Walter Alford III (born August 18, 1968), known as King Gordy, is an American singer and rapper. He is from Detroit, Michigan. He is known for his "horrorcore" music style. This style often uses dark or scary themes in its lyrics.
King Gordy is part of several music groups. He is a member of the underground hip hop group Fat Killahz. He is also in the horrorcore supergroup How to Gag a Maggot. Plus, he is one half of the rap duos Last American Rock Stars and Even Heathens. He has his own record label called King of Van Dyke Entertainment.

Early Life in Detroit
Waverly Alford grew up in Detroit, Michigan. His dad worked for Chrysler, a car company. His mom worked for the local school board. His parents separated when he was 13 years old.
King Gordy's Music Career
King Gordy started rapping in Detroit around the year 2000. He was known as a "battle rapper," which means he would compete against other rappers.
In 2001, King Gordy joined the group Fat Killahz. He was the only singer in the group. He signed with Web Entertainment, a music label that had worked with Eminem. This helped him start his own music journey.
First Albums and Movies
King Gordy appeared in the movie 8 Mile in 2002. He played a rapper named "Big O." This character was often mentioned in the movie.
In 2003, he released his first solo album called The Entity. Eminem also helped with the music production on this album. Two years later, in 2005, King Gordy and Fat Killahz released their group album, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?. He also appeared on albums by other rappers like Bizarre and Proof that same year.
New Music and Groups
From 2006 to 2009, King Gordy released five more solo albums. His friends from Fat Killahz and Bizarre were often featured on these albums. In 2008, King Gordy and Bizarre formed a hip hop duo called The Davidians.
His album Xerxes The God-King came out in 2010. It included a music video for his song "Sing For The Dead."
In 2011, King Gordy tried a different style. He released a Detroit blues album called King Gordy Sings the Blues. He also released a new Fat Killahz project and his first extended play (EP) called Jesus Christ's Mistress.
The next year, in 2012, he started using the nickname Dark Lord Vader. He released an EP called Hail Dark Lord Vader. This album showed his return to the horrorcore style. He began to promote this tougher image on social media.
Overcoming Challenges
In 2016, King Gordy was shot five times during a robbery. After he recovered, he released a new EP called Herojuana. This was a team-up with his Fat Killahz bandmate Bang Belushi.
In 2017, King Gordy and Bizarre signed with Twiztid's label, Majik Ninja Entertainment. They formed the duo L.A.R.S. and released their first album in 2018. King Gordy also started a project called How to Gag a Maggot with rapper Jimmy Donn. He also launched his own record label, King of Van Dyke Entertainment, in late 2018.
Rap Battles and Challenges
King Gordy has been involved in some rap "diss" tracks. A diss track is a song meant to insult another artist.
When rapper Haystak made a diss track about Eminem, King Gordy and Bizarre responded with their own diss tracks. Later, another rapper named Brabo Gator then made a diss track about King Gordy and his friends.
In 2013, King Gordy challenged other rappers like Lupe Fiasco on Twitter. They had a long discussion online. Both rappers said they respected each other's skills. But they also believed they could win a rap battle against each other.
In 2014, King Gordy released a song called "Return Of The King." This song was a diss track aimed at other rappers.
