Kiran Maheshwari (born October 29, 1961 – died November 30, 2020) was an important Indian politician. She came from the state of Rajasthan and was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, a major political group in India.

Who Was Kiran Maheshwari?
Kiran Maheshwari was a dedicated politician who worked for the people of Rajasthan. She held several important positions during her career. She was known for her work in both the national parliament and the state assembly.
Serving in the National Parliament
From 2004 to 2009, Kiran Maheshwari was a Member of Parliament. This means she was elected to the Lok Sabha. The Lok Sabha is one of the two houses of India's national parliament. She represented the Udaipur area during this time.
In 2009, she ran for election again. This time, she tried to win a seat from the Ajmer area. However, she did not win that election. Sachin Pilot from the Indian National Congress party won instead.
State Politics in Rajasthan
After her time in the national parliament, Kiran Maheshwari focused on state politics. In December 2013, she ran for the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. This assembly makes laws for the state of Rajasthan. She won the election from the Rajsamand area. She won by a very large number of votes, more than 30,000.
She continued to serve the people of Rajsamand. She was re-elected to the Assembly in 2018. This showed that people trusted her to represent them.
Her Passing
In the fall of 2020, Kiran Maheshwari became sick. She tested positive for COVID-19. She was in the hospital for 21 days. Sadly, she passed away on November 30, 2020, in Gurugram, Haryana.
