Abul Hasan Abu Ishaq Kasa'i Marvazi (born around 953 and living in the 10th century), also known simply as Kasai, was an important Persian poet. He was born in a city called Marv.

Kasai was a famous poet who lived a long time ago, in the 10th century. He was born in Marv, a city that was once very important in the Persian world. He worked as a poet in the court of Mahmud Ghaznavi. A "court poet" means he wrote poems for the ruler and his royal family.

His Poems and Beliefs

Kasai wrote all of his poems in the Persian language. His poems were later gathered together into a collection called a Diwan. A Diwan is like a book where a poet's collected works are kept.

Kasai became a follower of Shia Islam. In many of his poems, he showed great respect and praise for Ali ibn Abi Talib, who is a very important figure in Shia Islam.
