Klaib Saud Al-Fawwaz was an important person from Jordan. He was born on October 15, 1950, and passed away on January 8, 2017. During his life, he worked as a diplomat, which means he represented Jordan in other countries. He was also a senator, a special government minister, and a leader of a political party called Eslah.

Early Life and Learning

Klaib Al-Fawwaz was born in 1950 in a place called Sabha, Jordan. His father, Saud Ghaleb Al-Fawwaz, was the leader of the Serdiyeh tribe.

An English explorer named Gertrude Bell visited his tribe long ago, between 1913 and 1914. She wrote about her visit and took pictures. One of her photos even showed Klaib's grandfather, Ghaleb.

Klaib Al-Fawwaz went to the University of Jordan and earned a degree in political science. This means he studied how governments work. Later, he got a master's degree in public relations from Fairleigh Dickinson University in the United States in 1977. He also earned a PhD in history from the Arab History Institute in Iraq in 1995.

His Career and Work

Klaib Al-Fawwaz spent over 30 years working for Jordan in different countries. He was a diplomat, helping to build good relationships between Jordan and other nations.

  • From 1979 to 1983, he worked at the Jordanian embassy in New Delhi, India.
  • From 1984 to 1988, he was part of Jordan's team at the United Nations in New York.
  • He also worked at embassies in Baghdad, Iraq (1991–1995), and Uzbekistan (1997–1999).
  • From 1999 to 2003, he was Jordan's Consul General in Dubai, helping Jordanians living there.

After his work as a diplomat, Al-Fawwaz became a senator in Jordan from 2003 to 2005. Senators are lawmakers who help create rules for the country.

He also played a role in peace talks. From 1995 to 1996, he was part of groups that helped people who had to leave their homes during conflicts. He worked on committees for peace negotiations, especially for refugees.

From 2011 to 2012, Al-Fawwaz served as Jordan's State Minister for Cabinet Affairs. This was a very important job where he worked closely with the Prime Minister, Awn Shawkat Al-Khasawneh, to manage government matters.

From 2012 until his passing in 2017, Al-Fawwaz was the founder and leader (Secretary General) of the Eslah Political Party. A political party is a group of people who share similar ideas about how the country should be run.

Family Life

Klaib Al-Fawwaz was married to Mrs. Intissar Al-Armouti. They had four children: Zein, Hala, Nasser, and Anoud.

He passed away on January 8, 2017.

Special Recognition

In 2003, Klaib Al-Fawwaz received the Excellence in Economic Performance Award. He earned this award at a meeting for Jordanian ambassadors in Jordan.

Remembering Him

On April 15, 2017, a special event was held to remember Dr. Al-Fawwaz. Many of his close friends gave speeches, including former Prime Minister Awn Shawkat Al-Khasawneh, sharing memories of him.
