Knob Hill is a neighborhood in Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado, United States. It is located northeast of the downtown area of Colorado Springs.

History of Knob Hill
Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind
The Colorado Institute of the Education of the Mutes opened on April 8, 1874. Today, it is known as the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind. Jonathan R. Kennedy founded the school. It started with $5,000 from the state. The school began in a rented house with only seven students.
Jonathan Kennedy had worked at the Kansas State School for the Deaf. He became the director of the new school. His own children also attended the school. William Jackson Palmer later donated land for a permanent school building. This land was on Knob Hill, about 1 mile (1.6 km) east of Colorado Springs. In 2014, about 500 students attended the school from across the state.
Union Printers Home
The Childs-Drexel Home for Union Printers was officially opened on May 12, 1892. The International Typographical Union ran this home. It was a place to care for sick and elderly members. In 2014, Heart Living Centers bought the home.
Tesla Experimental Station
The famous inventor Nikola Tesla had an experimental station on Knob Hill. This station was used for his wireless power experiments. It was located near where Kiowa and Foote Streets are today. It stood between the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind and the Union Printers' Home. Tesla built and operated it in 1899. The station was taken down in 1904. At that time, a street car line reached Knob Hill. This area was then at the very edge of the prairie.
St. Francis Hospital
St. Francis Hospital was built on Institute Heights. This area was at the east end of Pike's Peak Avenue. It was also close to the Knob Hill street car line.
Other Activities
The Pikes Peak Gun Club was also located on Knob Hill. It was near the city limits at the time. The Knob Hill Auction Company held monthly auctions. They would sell horses on the hill. Livestock was also sold weekly on Knob Hill. There was even a cafe nearby for people to visit.
Annexation
In 1950, about 3,612 people lived in Knob Hill. On June 14 of that year, Knob Hill became part of Colorado Springs. It was officially annexed into the city. From then on, it was known as the Knob Hill neighborhood.
