Knut Holmann, born on July 31, 1968, in Oslo, is a famous Norwegian sprint kayaker. He competed at the top level from the early 1990s to the early 2000s. Knut is known for having some of the best kayaking technique ever seen in the sport. He won many medals in major competitions, including the Olympic Games and the World Championships.

Olympic Achievements
Knut Holmann won a total of six medals at the Summer Olympics. This makes him one of the most successful Olympic kayakers from Norway.
- At the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, he earned two medals. He won a silver medal in the K-1 1000 metres event and a bronze medal in the K-1 500 metres event.
- In the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Knut continued his success. He won a gold medal in the K-1 1000 metres and a silver medal in the K-1 500 metres.
- His most successful Olympics was the 2000 Sydney Games. There, he won two gold medals! He took first place in both the K-1 500 metres and the K-1 1000 metres races.
World Championship Success
Besides his Olympic medals, Knut Holmann also had an amazing career at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships. He won a total of thirteen medals at these championships.
- He earned four gold medals, all in the K-1 1000 metres event. These wins were in 1990, 1991, 1993, and 1995.
- Knut also won five silver medals. These included K-1 500 metres in 1991 and 1995, K-1 1000 metres in 1998 and 1999, and K-1 10000 metres in 1993.
- He added four bronze medals to his collection. These were in K-1 500 metres in 1994, K-1 1000 metres in 1994 and 1997, and K-4 200 metres in 1998.
