Kodad is a lively town located in the Suryapet district of the Indian state of Telangana. It's a special kind of town called a municipality, which means it has its own local government. Kodad also serves as the main office for the Kodad mandal (a type of administrative area).
You can find Kodad right on National Highway 65, which connects the big cities of Hyderabad and Vijayawada. It's about 44 kilometers away from Suryapet, the main city of its district.

Weather in Kodad
Kodad experiences quite hot summers. The highest daily temperatures can range from 35 °C to 48 °C.
Even in winter, the weather stays warm. For example, the average temperature in January is around 24 °C. In February, it's about 26 °C, and by May, it reaches an average of 36 °C.
Getting Around Kodad
The TSRTC (Telangana State Road Transport Corporation) runs many buses from Kodad. These buses connect the town to various places in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This makes it easy for people to travel to and from Kodad.

Based on the 2011 Census of India, Kodad town has a population of 65,234 people. Out of these, 32,010 are male and 33,224 are female.
The town has a very high literacy rate of 96.7%. This means almost everyone in Kodad can read and write! For every 1000 males, there are about 1060 females, which is called the sex ratio. Among children, for every 1000 boys, there are 1100 girls.
The larger area, Kodad Mandal, has a total population of 134,130 people. Here, 66,604 are male and 67,526 are female. The literacy rate for the entire mandal is also very good, at 94.33%.

Running the Town
The Kodad Municipality is the main group that manages the town's services. It was set up in 2011. This municipality covers an area of about 31.90 square kilometers and is divided into 30 different sections called wards.
Currently, the municipal commissioner, who is like the town's manager, is L.Balojinaik. The chairman, who leads the municipality, is Samineni Prameela.
