Kodai Watanabe (渡辺 広大, Watanabe Kōdai, born 4 December 1986) is a Japanese footballer. He plays as a centre back. Since 2023, he has been playing for Vonds Ichihara.
Kodai Watanabe's Football Journey
Kodai Watanabe started his professional football career in 2005. He joined Vegalta Sendai and played there for many years. He was a strong defender for the team.
He played over 170 games for Vegalta Sendai. In 2012, his team finished second in the J1 League. This was a great achievement for them.
After leaving Vegalta Sendai, Kodai played for other teams. He joined Montedio Yamagata in 2015. Later, he moved to Renofa Yamaguchi FC in 2017.
In 2019, he went to Thespakusatsu Gunma. He first joined them on a loan. Then, he became a permanent player for the club. He played many games for them until 2022.
In December 2022, Kodai Watanabe made a new move. He joined Vonds Ichihara. He started playing for them in the 2023 season. This team is part of the Kantō League.
Throughout his career, Kodai has played in many important matches. He has shown great skill as a defender. He has played over 370 league games in total. He has also scored 19 goals.
