Koji Noguchi (野口 幸司, Noguchi Koji, born June 5, 1970) is a former Japanese football player. He was a forward, which means he played in an attacking position, trying to score goals. Noguchi played for several clubs in Japan and also represented the Japan national team.
Koji Noguchi's Football Journey
Playing for Clubs
Koji Noguchi was born in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, on June 5, 1970. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career in 1989. He joined a club called Fujita Industries. This club later changed its name to Bellmare Hiratsuka.
Noguchi played for Bellmare Hiratsuka for many years. His team moved up to the top league in Japan, called the J1 League, in 1994. That same year, his club won a big tournament called the 1994 Emperor's Cup. They also won the 1995 Asian Cup Winners' Cup in Asia.
Koji Noguchi was a regular player for a long time. But in 1997, he started getting less playing time. So, he moved to another club, Kawasaki Frontale.
Towards the end of his career, he played for Nagoya Grampus Eight from 1998 to 1999. Then, he played for Omiya Ardija in 2000. Koji Noguchi retired from playing football at the end of the 2000 season.
Representing Japan
Koji Noguchi also had the honor of playing for his country. On August 6, 1995, he played his first game for the Japan national team. This match was against the Costa Rica team.
