Konstantin Konstantinovich Kuzminsky (born April 16, 1940 – died May 2, 2015) was a Russian-American performance poet. This means he often read his poems aloud in front of an audience. He was known for publishing a large collection of Russian poetry called The Blue Lagoon Anthology of Modern Russian Poetry. He also wrote his own poetry, including a book titled The Living Mirror. Besides his writing, Kuzminsky appeared in several documentary films.

Moving to America

In 1978, Kuzminsky moved from the Soviet Union (which Russia was part of at the time) to the United States. He settled in America and continued his work as a poet. He was married to a woman named Emma, who was often called "Mouse."

His Creative Works

Konstantin Kuzminsky's most famous work is The Blue Lagoon Anthology of Modern Russian Poetry. An anthology is a collection of writings, like poems, by different authors. This book helped share modern Russian poetry with many readers. He also published his own poems, showing his unique style. Beyond books, Kuzminsky was featured in documentary movies, including two made by Andrei Zagdansky.

His Later Years

Konstantin Kuzminsky passed away on May 2, 2015, in New York City. He was 75 years old. His work continues to be an important part of Russian and American poetry.
