Konyang University (건양대학교) is a private university in South Korea. It was started in 1991. The university has two main locations: one in Nonsan and another in Daejeon.
The Nonsan campus is the biggest. It has over 10,000 students. They can choose from more than 40 different study areas. Many of these areas focus on practical skills. About 230 students come from other countries. The Daejeon campus specializes in health-related studies. This includes Western medicine, medical technology, and nursing. Around 700 students are studying for advanced degrees. The university is officially recognized by the Korean Council for University Education.
In 2011, Konyang University was one of the first private universities in South Korea to offer military science as a major. This means students could study topics related to the military. The current president of the university is Dr. Kim Hi-soo. He received a special award in 2006 for his great work in education.
In 2013, the South Korean government changed how it supported universities. They wanted to help schools that were doing well. Konyang University applied for funding for seven different projects. All seven projects were approved! This brought in a lot of money, about 49 billion won (which is millions of US dollars). This money helps the university offer even better programs.
