Korehi (which is spelled Persian: کرهای in Persian) is a city located in Fars province, Iran. It is part of the Sarchehan County and belongs to its Central District. Korehi used to be the main city, or "capital," of Sarchehan County. However, the capital has since moved to another city called Hesami.
About Korehi's Population
How Many People Live Here?
Understanding a city's population helps us know how many people live there. This is called demographics. Iran conducts a "National Census" to count its people every few years.
- In 2006, the census showed that Korehi had 3,158 people living in 807 households (or homes). At that time, Korehi was part of a different area called Bavanat County.
- By 2011, the population grew to 3,912 people, living in 1,027 households.
- The most recent census in 2016 counted 3,954 people in Korehi, living in 1,259 households.
Changes in Korehi's Role
After the 2016 census, some administrative changes happened. Korehi became part of the newly formed Sarchehan County. It was first made the capital of this new county. Later, the capital was moved from Korehi to the city of Hesami.
