Her Early Life and Learning Journey
Kristen loved engineering from a very young age. She enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together. In 2017, she shared with Forbes magazine that her family even called her "The Engineer."
She studied at Tufts University, where she earned a degree in human-factors engineering. This field focuses on how people interact with machines and technology. While in college, she was the president of the Society of Black Engineers chapter at her school. Later, in 2018, Kristen earned a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from the Tufts University School of Engineering. She also attended special programs to learn more about business.
