Early Life and Learning
Kristen Ransom loved engineering from a young age. She enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together. Her family even called her "The Engineer"!
She studied human-factors engineering at Tufts University. This field looks at how people use technology. While at Tufts, she was the president of the Society of Black Engineers. Later, in 2018, she earned a master's degree in engineering management from the Tufts University School of Engineering. She also learned a lot about business through special programs.
Career and Impact
Before starting IncluDe, Kristen worked on technology for big companies. She developed hardware and software for Harley-Davidson and the MITRE Corporation.
Kristen started IncluDe to make technology more open to everyone. She wants to "change the face of tech." Her company helps small businesses, especially those owned by women and minorities, get online.
Besides her work with IncluDe, Kristen is also a motivational speaker. She shares her story at events and conferences. In 2017, Boston Magazine named her one of the top 30 rising tech stars. In 2021, she helped create the website for Boston's "All Inclusive" tourism campaign.
