Kuniharu Nakamoto (中本 邦治, Nakamoto Kuniharu, born October 29, 1959) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender. Nakamoto also represented the Japan national team.

Playing for Clubs
Kuniharu Nakamoto was born in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, on October 29, 1959. After finishing his studies at Chuo University, he joined a football club called Nippon Kokan in 1982. This club later became known simply as NKK.
Nakamoto played a key role for NKK. From 1985, his team achieved great success. They finished in second place in the league for three years in a row. In 1987, the club won the JSL Cup, which was a big achievement. Nakamoto played for NKK until he retired from professional football in 1991.
Playing for His Country
Nakamoto also had the chance to play for Japan's national teams. In August 1979, while he was still a student at Chuo University, he was chosen for the Japan U-20 national team. He played in the 1979 World Youth Championship, where he appeared in three matches.
Later, in September 1987, Nakamoto was selected to play for the senior Japan national team. This was for the qualification matches for the 1988 Summer Olympics. He made his first appearance for the national team on September 2, 1987, in a game against Thailand. In total, he played five games for Japan in 1987.
