Kunturiri: The Condor Mountain
Kunturiri is a famous mountain located in the La Paz Department of Bolivia. The name "Kunturiri" comes from the Aymara language. "Kunturi" means "condor," and "-(i)ri" is a suffix. So, Kunturiri means something like "place of the condor" or "one with the condor."
The mountain is known for its unique shape. The central part of the Kunturiri group has three main peaks. They look just like a huge condor spreading its wings to fly!

Another peak nearby is Kuchillu Khunu. Its name means "knife snow" in Aymara. It is located south of the "head of the condor."
