Who Started This Important Place?

Vera Beaudin Saeedpour started this organization in 1981. She was married to Homayoun Saeedpour. He was a Kurd from a place called Sanandaj in Iran. The library first opened its doors in 1986. The museum then welcomed visitors starting in 1988.

Sharing Kurdish Stories and Research

The library also helped share knowledge through publications. It published two research journals. These were called the International Journal of Kurdish Studies and Kurdish Life. These journals shared important information about Kurdish topics.

The Foundation's Legacy

Vera Beaudin Saeedpour passed away in 2010. After her passing, the entire collection from the museum was given to Binghamton University. This ensured that the valuable items would continue to be cared for and studied.
