Kuttainen is a small place, or locality, found in the northern part of Sweden. It is located in Kiruna Municipality, which is part of Norrbotten County. In 2010, about 333 people lived there. Kuttainen is a quiet village in the beautiful region of Lapland.

Where is Kuttainen Located?
Kuttainen is special because of where it sits. It is right next to the Muonio River. This river is not just any river; it forms the border between Sweden and Finland. So, when you are in Kuttainen, you are very close to another country!

Usually, to cross a river, you would use a bridge. But in Kuttainen, there is no bridge connecting it to Kuttanen in Finland. This might sound like a problem, but nature provides a solution in winter. When the weather gets very cold, the Muonio River freezes solid.
