Emmanuel Kwesi Danso Arthur (born December 18, 1994), known as Kwesi Arthur, is a talented rapper, singer, and songwriter from Tema, Ghana. He became famous in 2017 with his popular song "Grind Day." This song was so good that other big rappers like Sarkodie and Medikal even joined him for a remix!
In 2019, his second music collection, Live from Nkrumah Krom Vol II, was streamed over 2 million times in its first week. Kwesi Arthur has won many awards, including Rapper of the Year and Hip Hop Song of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. He was also nominated for the Viewer's Choice Best International Act at the 2018 BET Awards. He was the second Ghanaian rapper to be nominated for the BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher.

Kwesi Arthur's Early Life and School
Kwesi Arthur was born on December 18, 1994, in Tema, Ghana. He grew up in Tema Community 9. He is the second of four children. His brother, Benjamin Danso Arthur, is also a musician known as Dayonthetrack.
After finishing high school in 2013, Kwesi wanted to study psychology and law at the University of Ghana. However, he could not afford it. This led him to consider a job as a security guard in Tema. Kwesi Arthur worked as a security guard for just one day. He quickly realized it was not what he wanted to do.
Instead, he decided to follow his dream of making music. He made a deal with a local recording studio owner. Kwesi could learn music production and record for free. In return, he helped with chores around the studio, like sweeping. In 2016, he met the team from Ground Up Chale. This is a social media group for young artists in West Africa. A year later, he recorded his hit song "Grind Day" at their studios.
Kwesi Arthur's Music Journey
Kwesi Arthur was first noticed by the famous Ghanaian rapper and businessman Sarkodie. Sarkodie even featured on Kwesi's hit song "Grind Day," along with Medikal.
Kwesi Arthur started writing rap songs after listening to Drake's first album, Thank Me Later.
In 2017, he released "Grind Day" as the main song from his first music collection, Live from Nkrumah Krom (2017). He released this song independently with the help of GroundUp Chale. Later, he released a new version of "Grind Day" that featured Sarkodie and Medikal.
Kwesi Arthur has worked with many Ghanaian musicians. These include Sarkodie, Medikal, KiDi, R2Bees, M.anifest, EL, Stonebwoy, and Shatta Wale. He has also worked with South African rapper Nasty C. In 2018, he was nominated for Best International Act at the BET Awards.
Kwesi Arthur is one of Ghana's most successful artists. His music is known and awarded around the world. In 2020, his song "Live From The 233" was one of the most streamed African songs on Apple Music.
