Kyōko Kagawa (香川 京子, Kagawa Kyōko, born 5 December 1931) is a famous Japanese actress. She was born on December 5, 1931. She has been acting for over 70 years! During her long career, she worked with many well-known directors. Some of her most famous films include Tokyo Story, Sansho the Bailiff, Mothra, and High and Low.

About Kyōko Kagawa
Kyōko Kagawa was born in a place called Asō in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. She finished high school in Tokyo in 1949. She was discovered in a "New Face Nomination" contest. This contest was run by a newspaper called Tokyo Shimbun. She started her acting career the very next year, in 1950. Her first movie was Mado kara tobidase.
Kyōko Kagawa became a very busy actress. She worked with many famous film directors. These directors include Akira Kurosawa, Kenji Mizoguchi, and Yasujirō Ozu. She made many important movies with them.
In 1963, Kyōko Kagawa got married. After making the movie Red Beard in 1965, she moved to New York City with her husband. He was a reporter for a newspaper. When she came back to Japan, she acted in TV shows for a while. Later, she returned to the big screen in movies like Karei-naru Ichizoku in 1974.
In 2011, a special exhibition was held to honor her. The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo celebrated her long career. They also recognized her important contributions to Japanese movies.
