Kyle Mack's Snowboarding Journey

Kyle Mack was born in Royal Oak, Michigan. He grew up in West Bloomfield. His amazing snowboarding career started when he was just three years old. He would ride down his driveway every time it snowed.

His parents wanted him to go skiing every weekend. But Kyle really didn't like skiing. He said he had some bad falls and would get upset. So, his dad decided to put him on a snowboard instead.

Early Days and Sponsorship

When Kyle was five, he started snowboarding regularly at Alpine Valley. He loved it so much that he would stay there no matter the weather. His dedication caught the eye of Burton Snowboards. They are a very famous snowboarding company.

When Kyle was only seven years old, Burton decided to sponsor him! This was a huge step for his career. In 2010, he won first place at the Burton Open Junior Jam. This win helped him become even more well-known.

School and Training

Kyle went to Brother Rice High School at first. But he missed too many days because he was traveling for competitions. So, he switched to Pontiac High School. There, he took classes online, which allowed him to keep up with his studies while training. He successfully graduated from high school.

Joining the US Team and Major Competitions

In 2011, Kyle was invited to join the US Snowboarding Team. This was a big achievement! Since then, he has competed in many different countries. He has also taken part in several Dew Tours and Grand Prix events.

In 2015, he won two bronze medals at the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships 2015. He earned one for Big Air and another for Slopestyle. In 2016, he came in second place at the Air & Style tour stop in Los Angeles.

On March 4, 2016, Kyle won first place in Men's Slopestyle at the US Open. This is a very important competition in snowboarding.

Olympic Success

Kyle's biggest achievement came at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. He competed in the Men's Big Air final. He performed incredibly well and won the silver medal for the United States!
