Kyungsun Suh (born November 8, 1942) is a talented composer from South Korea. She writes many different kinds of music.
About Kyungsun Suh
Kyungsun Suh was born in Seoul, Korea. She loved music and studied how to compose it. She went to Seoul National University and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. There, she earned her bachelor's and master's degrees.
After finishing her studies, she started teaching. In 1974, she became a teacher at Hanyang University. Her music has been played all over the world. This means many people have heard her amazing compositions.
Kyungsun Suh also helped other women composers. She was the president of the Korean Society of Women Composers from 1993 to 1997. She also helped organize big music events. These were the Asian Contemporary Music Festivals in Seoul and Suwon. They happened in 1993 and 2002.
She has received important awards for her work. In 2005, she got the Okwan (Jade) Medal of Culture. This award came from South Korea's Ministry of Culture and Tourism. She also received an Arts Award from the Arts Council of Korea. Today, she is a professor emeritus at Hanyang University. This means she is a retired professor who is still honored by the university.

Kyungsun Suh has written music for many different groups. She has composed for full orchestras. She also writes for smaller groups of instruments called chamber ensembles. Her music includes pieces for singers and for single instruments.
