The LC is a super fun leisure centre located right in the middle of Swansea, Wales. It used to be called Swansea Leisure Centre. After a huge £32 million makeover, it reopened on March 1, 2008, with its new name, 'The LC'. The outside of the building got a fresh look. Old concrete panels were replaced with shiny glass, see-through panels, and wooden sections.

A Look Back: The LC's History
The original Swansea Leisure Centre was built in 1977. It stands where the old Swansea Victoria railway station used to be. The Queen herself opened it during her special Silver Jubilee celebrations that year.
Wales' First Wave Machine
This centre was very special because it had the first wave machine in a Welsh leisure centre! It quickly became one of the best places for fun in Wales. Lots of tourists came to visit. At its busiest, over 800,000 people used it every year.
Big Changes and Reopening
The centre closed in 2003 for a big update. Swansea Council decided to give it a complete makeover. After the renovation, it reopened on March 7, 2008. Guess who opened it again? The Queen!

The LC Logo: What Does It Mean?
The "LC" logo is pretty clever because it has many meanings.
- The '2' in the logo can show that it's the "second" version of the old Swansea Leisure Centre, after its big relaunch.
- It can also look like a wave and some mountains. This represents Swansea and the beautiful area around it.
- The wave and mountains could also point to the surf simulator and climbing wall inside The LC.
- Some people even see a swan in the logo, which is a symbol for Swansea itself.
