LCL S.A. is a big French bank. It is part of a larger group called Crédit Agricole. LCL has its main office in Lyon and another important office in Paris, France.

The bank was started in 2005. It took over from an older bank called Crédit Lyonnais. The name LCL actually stands for "Le Crédit Lyonnais." In 2005, LCL helped about 6 million customers. It had around 2,000 branches all over France.

LCL and the Tour de France

LCL is famous for sponsoring the Tour de France cycling race. They sponsor the yellow jersey, which is worn by the leader of the race. This jersey is a very important symbol in cycling.

After each day's race, LCL gives a special award. They give a soft toy lion, called le lion en peluche, to the winner of that day. This is a fun play on the bank's name. The bank that came before LCL, Crédit Lyonnais, first started sponsoring the Tour de France in 1981. They have sponsored the yellow jersey since 1987.
