LEXO is a special brand of insulated cups, also called tumblers. These cups are designed to keep your drinks at just the right temperature. They were created by a company called ThermAvant International, LLC, located in Columbia, Missouri, in the United States. LEXO was the first version of their advanced temperature-regulating tumblers.
The Story Behind LEXO
The idea for LEXO came from a smart professor named Hongbin "Bill" Ma. He teaches mechanical and aerospace engineering at the University of Missouri. Professor Ma also directs a center that studies how to manage heat.
In the summer of 2015, Professor Ma often found his coffee getting cold because he waited for it to cool down. He wanted a cup that could keep his drink at a perfect temperature. This led him to start working on a "cup with constant temperature." The LEXO cup was first made available to everyone in December 2016.
How LEXO Cups Work
LEXO cups use clever materials to control the temperature of your drink. They use special "phase-change materials" and advanced heat transfer technology. These materials can absorb heat when a drink is too hot. This helps cool the drink down to a temperature that's comfortable to sip.
When your drink starts to get cooler, the LEXO cup does something amazing. It slowly releases the heat it stored earlier back into your drink. This helps keep your drink warm for longer. LEXO cups are also great at keeping cold liquids chilled. They can keep your iced tea or water cool for hours.
The LEXO cup is built with three layers of strong 18/8 stainless-steel. It also has lids made from BPA-free plastic. This design helps the cup work so well at keeping drinks at the right temperature.
