What is a Municipality?
A municipality is a type of local government area. It has its own leaders and rules to manage the local community. In Venezuela, each state is divided into several municipalities. La Ceiba is one of these important divisions within the state of Trujillo.
When was La Ceiba Municipality Established?
La Ceiba Municipality was officially established on January 30, 1995. This date marked its recognition as a separate and self-governing area within Trujillo state.
Who Leads La Ceiba?
The main leader of a municipality is called a Mayor. The current mayor of La Ceiba is Darlin Moreno. The mayor works to make sure the municipality runs smoothly and serves its residents. Mayor Moreno is part of the PSUV.
