La Cuesta is a district located in the Puntarenas province of Costa Rica. It is part of the Corredores canton. A district is like a smaller area within a larger region, similar to a neighborhood or a town within a county.

History of La Cuesta
La Cuesta became an official district on October 19, 1973. This happened when a special law, called Ley 5373, was passed. Before this, La Cuesta was part of the Golfito canton.

La Cuesta covers an area of about 37 square kilometers (about 14 square miles). It is located at an elevation of 38 meters (about 125 feet) above sea level. This means it's fairly close to the coast.
