La sonnambula facts for kids
La sonnambula (which means "The Sleepwalker") is a famous opera from Italy. It was written by a composer named Vincenzo Bellini. This opera has two parts, called "acts." It was first shown in Milan, Italy, at a famous opera house called La Scala, on March 6, 1831. The story for the opera, called the libretto, was written by Felice Romani. He got the idea from a ballet story about a sleepwalker. La sonnambula was very popular right away and is still performed often today!
