Lac La Belle is a beautiful lake in Michigan, located in Keweenaw County. It covers about 1,146-acre (464 ha) of water. This lake is surrounded by thick forests of the Keweenaw Peninsula, making it a peaceful natural spot.
The deepest part of Lac La Belle is about 38 feet (12 m). The bottom of the lake is mostly made of mud.

Water Flow and Connections
Lac La Belle is connected to other important water bodies. The Little Gratiot River flows into the lake on its west side. This river brings fresh water into Lac La Belle.
How Water Leaves the Lake
Water from Lac La Belle flows out through a special channel called the Mendota Canal. This canal carries the lake's water all the way to Lake Superior, one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world.
Haven Falls: A Nearby Waterfall
Near Lac La Belle, you can find Haven Falls. This waterfall is part of Haven Creek, which also flows into the lake. The falls are only about 500 feet (150 m) away from where Haven Creek joins Lac La Belle. It's a great spot to visit and see nature's power.
Exploring Lac La Belle
There are several ways to enjoy Lac La Belle. On the north side of the lake, close to the community of Lac La Belle, there is a boat launch. This launch is owned by the state, making it easy for people to put their boats in the water and explore the lake.
