Lacasa has grown a lot over the years. Today, it has offices or factories in many countries. These include Argentina, Belgium, France, Portugal, Spain, and the United States.

History of Lacasa: A Sweet Beginning

Lacasa is the oldest chocolate factory in Spain. It was started way back in 1852 by José Lacasa Piens. He began his sweet business in Jaca, a small town near the Pyrenees mountains.

Over time, Lacasa S.A. grew bigger and bigger. It moved its main operations to Zaragoza. The company became one of the top sweet makers in Europe. It was also one of the first to get the ISO 9002 Quality Certification. This means their products meet very high quality standards.

Growing the Company: New Factories and Brands

In the 1990s, Lacasa worked hard to become even stronger in the market. In 1991, they made their factory in Utebo much larger. They also bought other companies that made sweets.

Some of these companies included Productos Mauri, S.A. from Barcelona, Bombonera Vallisoletana from Valladolid, and Chocolates del Norte from Oviedo. These purchases helped Lacasa offer even more tasty treats to people.

Recognizing Excellence

In May 1998, a special award was given to Carmen Echeverría. She was recognized for her great work in leading the Lacasa company. The award came from the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
