Laceyville, Ohio facts for kids
Laceyville was once a small community, or town, located in Harrison County, Ohio, in the United States. It is no longer there today.
History of Laceyville
Laceyville was named after a person called Major John S. Lacey. He was likely an important person in the area. A post office, which is where people send and receive mail, was opened in Laceyville in 1850. It stayed open for many years, helping the people of the community. However, the post office eventually closed down in 1907.
The most important reason Laceyville is no longer around is because of Tappan Lake. When Tappan Lake was created, the area where Laceyville stood became completely covered by water. This means the entire town site is now underwater.
