Lacy Ryan (born around 1694, died 1760) was an English actor. He started performing at the Haymarket Theatre in London around 1709.

Life as an Actor

By 1718, Lacy Ryan joined a group of actors at the Lincoln's Inn Fields theatre. There, he often shared the main acting roles with his friend, James Quin. Ryan played important characters in famous plays like Richard III and Hamlet. He acted alongside a well-known actress named Anna Maria Seymour. In 1719, he also appeared in a funny play called Kensington Gardens.

In 1732, Lacy Ryan moved with his acting company to the Covent Garden theatre. He continued to perform there for the rest of his life. Some of his most famous roles included Iago and Cassius from Shakespeare's plays. He also played Edgar in King Lear and Macduff from Macbeth. Another special role for him was the main character in the play Theodosius by Nathaniel Lee.
