Lady Gwendolen Georgiana Gascoyne-Cecil (born 28 July 1860 – died 28 September 1945) was a British writer. She is best known for writing a long book about her father's life. This book was called Life of Robert, Marquess of Salisbury. A Marquess is a type of noble title in the United Kingdom.

Early Life and Family
Gwendolen Georgiana Gascoyne-Cecil was born in 1860. Her father was Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, 3rd Marquess of Salisbury. He was a very important person in British politics. Her mother was Georgina Alderson.
A Talented Writer
Lady Gwendolen wrote a big book about her father's life. It was a biography, which means a story of someone's life. This book was published in four parts, in 1921 and 1932.
She also wrote a short story called The Little Ray. This story appeared in a magazine called Pall Mall Magazine in August 1894.
A Prime Minister's Opinion
In 1878, a famous British Prime Minister named Benjamin Disraeli visited Lady Gwendolen's family home. He was very impressed by her and her sister. He even wrote to Queen Victoria about them. He said he had rarely met "more intelligent and agreeable women."
Discovering a Hidden Story
For a long time, a story called The Closed Cabinet was published without an author's name. But in October 2017, a writer named Johnny Mains found out who wrote it. He revealed that Lady Gwendolen was the author!
