Lago Puelo is a beautiful town in the Chubut Province, Argentina. It is about 5 kilometers (3 miles) north of Puelo Lake and the Lago Puelo National Park. The town is also 15 kilometers (9 miles) south of El Bolsón.
In 2010, about 3,129 people lived in Lago Puelo. It is one of the towns that form a group called La Comarca Andina del Paralelo 42. This means "Andean Region of the 42nd parallel." These towns and rural areas are located near the Andes mountains. They are all close to the 42nd parallel line of latitude in Argentina.
The town's population is growing as more people move here from bigger cities in Argentina. Lago Puelo is known for its many talented artisans. They show their crafts at the local fair in El Bolsón. They also display their work at the annual Forest Festival. This festival is usually held in January or February.
Many people living in Lago Puelo originally come from Buenos Aires. These people are often called "porteños."
