Lake Eucha Park is a fun place to visit in Delaware County, Oklahoma. It covers about 31 acres, which is like 23 football fields! This park used to be known as a state park, but now the city of Tulsa manages it. The closest town to the park is Jay, Oklahoma.

What is Lake Eucha Park?

Lake Eucha Park is a special kind of park called a "day-use" area. This means you can visit during the day, but you can't stay overnight, like for camping. It's a great spot for picnics and swimming.

Park Features and Fun

The park has lots of cool things to do. You'll find a big swimming pool with a shelter, which is perfect for hot days. There's also a barbecue area where you can grill yummy food. Plus, there are tables and chairs right by the pool for you to relax.

The park also has another shelter with 55 picnic tables, so there's plenty of space for everyone. If you like exploring, there are hiking trails to walk on. You'll also find comfort stations, which are places with restrooms.

Rent the Whole Park!

One really unique thing about Lake Eucha Park is that you can rent the entire park and its swimming pool! This is awesome for big groups or families who want to have a private party or event. You can rent the park for a full 24 hours.

A Park Not on a Lake?

Even though the park has "Lake" in its name, it's actually not right on the shore of Lake Eucha. In fact, there's a fence that separates the park from the lake. So, while you're near the lake, you can't access it directly from the park.

Park History and Management

Parks have been in this area for a long time, since at least 1938. The specific lease for Lake Eucha Park started in 1967. It was once called Lake Eucha State Park and even Upper Spavinaw State Park.

Changes in Ownership

In 2011, the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department announced that they might close several state parks, including Lake Eucha State Park. This was because of budget cuts. However, the park didn't close! Instead, the City of Tulsa stepped in and took over managing it. This means the park is still open for everyone to enjoy today.

Park Popularity

In 2011, Lake Eucha Park was one of the least expensive state parks to run. It cost about $15,300 a year to operate. That year, nearly 4,700 people visited the park.
