Its name comes from a Viking word that means “Lake of the emerald green hills.” It is a special type of place called a census-designated place, which means it's a community that the government counts for population, but it's not officially a city or town.
In 2020, about 3,387 people lived in Lake Lakengren. It is a private community that was carefully planned out. You can find it about 3 miles southwest of a town called Eaton.
