Lake Louisa (or Lac Louisa in French) is a beautiful lake located in the Quebec province of Canada. Most of the lake is found in the Argenteuil region, specifically in the Township of Wentworth. A smaller part of the lake stretches into the Les Pays-d'en-Haut region.

Lake Louisa is quite large! It is about 5.1 kilometers (3.2 miles) long and 2.3 kilometers (1.4 miles) wide. The distance around its edge, called the perimeter, is 16.9 kilometers (10.5 miles). This lake holds a huge amount of water, about 73.2 million cubic meters. In 2011, a special GPS survey found that the deepest part of the lake is 56.6 meters (185.7 feet) deep.

Exploring Lake Louisa's Islands

Lake Louisa is home to ten different islands. One tiny island is even nicknamed "Peanut Island" because of its small size. Other islands you might find there include Griffith Island, Malibu Island, and MacBurny Island. These islands add to the lake's natural beauty and provide interesting spots to explore.

The Community of Louisa

Near Lake Louisa, you'll find a small community called Louisa. This community has a church, St. Aidan's, and a community center. The community center is a place where local residents can gather and hold events.

Summer Fun and Lake Care

During the summer, Lake Louisa becomes a lively place. A social club on the lake organizes fun activities like swimming lessons for kids and families. Many people visit the lake in the warmer months, with about 800 people living there during the summer. In contrast, fewer than 100 people live there all year round.

There is also a special group called a property owner's association. This group works hard to make sure that human activities around the lake don't harm its health. They help manage things like pollution and shoreline protection to keep the lake clean and safe for everyone.
