Lake Ruby is a natural lake filled with fresh water. It is located just outside the city of Winter Haven, Florida. The lake covers a large area of about 259 acres (105 ha).
About Lake Ruby
Lake Ruby is found in the suburbs southeast of Winter Haven, Florida. It is one block south of Cypress Gardens Boulevard. Lake Ruby Drive runs along most of the lake's north side.
Many parts of the lake's edge are surrounded by private neighborhoods. These include the west, southwest, and northeast shores. The south side of the lake has private land.
Lake Ruby's Neighbors
Just to the east-southeast of Lake Ruby is another lake called Lake Bess. A thin strip of land separates the two lakes. At its narrowest point, this land is only about 40 feet (12 m) wide.
Visiting Lake Ruby
Even though Lake Ruby is quite large, public access is limited. People can only reach the lake along a small section on its north shore. This area is about three blocks wide, along Lake Ruby Drive.
There are no public swimming spots at Lake Ruby. You also won't find any public boat ramps. However, people who enjoy fishing can access the lake from the north shore.
